This Cookie Policy explains how Punya Idiomas (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://punyaidiomas.com and related services. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store data that can be retrieved by a web server. Similar technologies include local storage, SDKs, pixels, tags, and web beacons. Some cookies are essential to make the site work; others are non-essential and require your consent in certain regions (e.g., EEA/UK).
How we use cookies
We group cookies into these categories:
- Strictly necessary (essential) – required for the site to function (e.g., login, security, load balancing, consent logging).
- Preferences/Functional – remember choices (language, time zone, UI settings) and enhance features.
- Analytics/Performance – help us understand usage and improve services (aggregated statistics, crash/error reporting).
- Communications/Classroom tools – enable features like video lessons, chat, file storage, whiteboards (may set their own cookies).
- Anti-spam & security – protect forms and accounts (e.g., anti-spam challenges, bot detection).
- Advertising/Marketing (if enabled) – measure campaigns and personalize ads. We do not use behavioral advertising by default. If enabled in future, we will request consent (where required) and provide opt-outs such as “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in California and honor Global Privacy Control signals.
In the EEA/UK, we will only set non-essential cookies after you accept them in Cookie Settings. You can change your preferences at any time.
Examples of cookies/technologies we may use
(Illustrative; your actual vendors/features may differ. Replace with your live stack.)
- Strictly necessary: session cookies (login state), CSRF tokens, load balancer affinity, consent-management platform (CMP) cookie.
- Preferences:
wp-settings-*,wp-wpml_current_language, UI theme. - Analytics/Performance: Matomo (_pk*), Google Analytics (if used with consent), server logs, error trackers (e.g., Sentry).
- Communications/Classroom: Zoom/Google Meet/Jitsi embed tokens, real-time collaboration cookies, chat widget cookies.
- Anti-spam & security: Akismet signals, hCaptcha/reCAPTCHA challenge cookies (only where strictly necessary to protect forms).
- Payments: Stripe/PayPal checkout cookies and local storage keys required to complete transactions.
Cookie lifetimes
- Session cookies expire when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies generally last 1–13 months depending on purpose/vendor. Analytics cookies typically expire within 13–24 months unless you set shorter lifetimes in your analytics tool. Your consent choices are stored so we can honor them.
Managing your preferences
- Use Cookie Settings (our CMP) to accept/decline non-essential cookies or withdraw consent at any time.
- You can also control cookies through your browser settings. These links may help:
- Chrome:
chrome://settings/cookies - Firefox:
about:preferences#privacy - Safari (macOS/iOS): Preferences → Privacy
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality (e.g., login, checkout, class tools).
California (CCPA/CPRA)
If we engage in cross-context behavioral advertising or any activity considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, we will display a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and honor the Global Privacy Control signal. You can still use Cookie Settings to control non-essential cookies.
Brazil (LGPD) and Indonesia (PDP Law)
Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, we will obtain it and allow you to withdraw it via Cookie Settings. We will maintain records of consent and ensure appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in cookies we use or legal requirements. Check the “Last updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will notify you via banner or in-app notice.
